On 24 May 2022, the national training and dissemination event was held in Ljubljana. In the first part, the results of the ForHeritage project were presented. The second part was focused more on different possibilities for funding cultural heritage, above all, on innovative financing schemes.

We invite you to watch a short video about Vodnik's homestead Šiška, a house of reading, writing, and storytelling - the pilot project implemented by our Slovenian partners. The aim of the pilot was to test innovative financial resources for non-profit cultural products, carried out at Vodnik's homestead under the name Fairytale Studio.

Concise and practice-oriented set of tools for cultural heritage managers

Results from previously funded projects are reviewed, adjusted and clustered. As a result, an easily applicable set of tools is prepared that encompasses the following three perspectives of integrated cultural heritage management:

• social perspective actively involves community groups, citizens, NGOs and business partners

• economic and financial perspective, where different sources of funding apart from public are raised

• knowledge perspective, considering the importance of stakeholders' capacities 

Testing and validating the ForHeritage approach on pilot sites

Four pilot actions will be implemented adopting an integrated approach to heritage management:

• The Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin, Poland

• The Vodnik Homestead in Ljubljana, Slovenia

• The Benčić Complex in Rijeka, Croatia

• The Palazzo Santa Croce in Cuneo, Italy

Local and regional stakeholders will be involved in co-design and co-creation process through establishment and work with the stakeholders' groups.

Pushing the results into the practice of the regions towards the post-2020 period

The integrated approach to heritage management will be transferred to wider territories in a participative process of adapting the ForHeritage toolset to a local and regional context:

• Westpomerania region in Poland

• Ljubljana Urban Region in Slovenia

• City of Rijeka in Croatia

• Piedmont region in Italy

As a result, a guide with step-by-step instructions will be prepared to help you with better management of cultural heritage.

Organising and running workshops for cultural heritage managers

As part of the regional adaptation and uptake process, training workshops will be organised to develop the competencies of actors working in the cultural heritage sector, including cultural and creative industries sector (CCI).

The aim of these workshops is to equip participants with tools that will contribute to more effective day-to-day management of heritage sites.

The content of the workshops will be adapted to local needs, circumstances and legal environment.
