Pilot Projects to Improve Rural Mobility in European Regions

On March 15th 2019, in Budapest was held International Academic Conference about Transport, Logistic, Tourism and Sports Science (IACV-TLTS) where article about Pilot Projects to Improve Rural Mobility in European Regions i.e. RUMOBIL was presented. Joint work of Slovakian, Italian and Croatian partners resulted with article presenting some outputs of the RUMOBIL project, funded by the INTERREG CENTRAL EUROPE program. Article is presenting public transport in eight rural areas in Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia and Italy, confronted with similar challenge to respond to pressure on regional public transport systems caused by demographic change in peripheral areas. Also, what actions were taken during the period 2017-2018 in terms of how sparsely populated peripheral areas can be better connected to a primary, secondary or tertiary transport node (access to European and national passenger transport networks). Results of these pilots were shown in numbers and gave an insight into already proven good practices and novel solutions.

This paper was published within the implementation of the project RUMOBIL (CE55), co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund under Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE.
